I retired in 2020 after 40 years of working as an exploration geophysicist in the oil and gas industry. My background includes a degree in geology/geophysics with a minor in math from the University of Connecticut. The math minor included 4 semesters of Calculus, and one semester each of Differential Equations, Complex Variables, and Linear Algebra. I also have an MBA degree from Tulane University.
I am a parent with two children who graduated from the Cy Fair school district in Houston. I helped my children (and some of their friends!) with their math homework problems throughout their high school years. When the pandemic hit in 2020 and we were all at home, I started to tutor high school math online via Zoom. I did this work as a volunteer to to help the community during a difficult time. From beginning of fall 2021 through spring 2022, I worked as math tutor for Mathnasium in the Cypress area.
I get more joy from hearing a student say "oh, I get it now!" than anything I ever did in the oil and gas industry. Please contact me at mdsmathhelp@gmail.com if you'd like to discuss how I can help you.
