Undergraduate Thesis Title: A Study on Traffic Congestion in Khulna's CBD: Analyzing Peak Periods, Congested Segments, and Contributing Factors
Supervised by: : Dr. Md. Manjur Morshed , DURP, The University of Tokyo, Japan
Brief Overview: Traffic congestion is a major challenge to sustainable urban development, particularly in Khulna’s Central Business Districts (CBDs), where high commercial density and limited road infrastructure exacerbate delays. This study focused on four major CBD areas: Moylapota Mor, Ferighat Mor, Daulatpur Mor, and Thanar Mor, aiming to identify the most congested road segments, peak periods, and contributing factors.
The study highlights the worsening congestion in Khulna’s CBDs and underscores the urgent need for strategic urban planning and traffic management interventions.
