Dr. Md. Monirul Islam is currently serving as a postdoctoral researcher at CSIRO Agriculture & Food in Adelaide, South Australia. Dr. Islam received his PhD on March 25, 2022, from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. He also completed his Bachelor's and Master’s in Agricultural Economics degrees from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Before joining CSIRO, he was recruited as a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics, and the appointment was given considering his outstanding performance in the undergraduate and graduate courses. He taught principles of economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, production economics, farm management, and agricultural and resource economics courses during his teaching career. His research interests focus on the fields of econometric modeling, climate change, GIS & remote sensing applications in agriculture, geospatial crop insurance, land use policy, vulnerability analysis,  energy economics, and time series analysis.  He received the Academic Excellence Dean’s Award from the University of Tsukuba. He served as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE. He is also on the editorial boards of Discover Agriculture, Discover Sustainability, BMC Agriculture, and the Scientific Reports journal. Additionally, he is a Guest Editor for Sustainability and a Review Editor for Frontiers in Environmental Science. He reviews for journals across Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, MDPI, and more.
