I'm Md. Minaruzzaman, a PhD candidate in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University. I'm driven by a deep curiosity for science, a love for engineering challenges, an appreciation for the arts, and a genuine connection with people.
From a young age, I’ve been driven by a deep curiosity to understand the world through logical reasoning. This innate fascination gradually matured into a passion for research—especially in the realm of mathematical modeling, which I view as one of the most precise and elegant tools for explaining and predicting complex physical phenomena.
My academic journey has led me to focus on the behavior of nuclear materials under irradiation, where I integrate both theoretical and computational modeling with hands-on experimental techniques. I find this dual approach intellectually rewarding, as it allows me to validate simulations with real-world observations and uncover insights that are essential for the advancement of materials science.
Motivated by the vision of a more sustainable future, I take great pride in contributing to research that supports the development of cleaner and more reliable nuclear energy systems.
I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Beyond academics, I have always believed in personal growth and community impact. During my undergraduate years, I co-founded a cost-free educational initiative called HOW (House of Wisdom) with two of my classmates, aiming to make learning more accessible. I also participated in entrepreneurial competitions such as the Hult Prize and Ptak Prize, which further broadened my perspective on problem-solving and innovation.
