Muhammad Imam Hussain
Hi! I am a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics at SUNY Binghamton, with an expected graduation in Spring 2026. Before returning to academia, I spent about ten years at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Bangladesh Bank (the central bank) in economist and policy roles. I am currently on the 2025–2026 job market.
My research focuses on monetary policy, international finance, and financial stability using structural modeling and empirical methods. In particular, my current work examines commercial banks’ reserve demand under monetary and interest rate targeting regimes and the associated dynamics of overnight interest rates.
