About Us

The PTO is for families of all students grades K4-8th. We welcome any time or talent commitment you're willing to share, our events and committees offer multiple ways for parents to be involved, both in person and behind the scenes, with a variety of time commitments that work for you.

The goal of the PTO is to create a culture of community within our district and  provide financial support for our schools.  Throughout the school year the PTO hosts events to get families involved with our school community. Some the events in the past have been; The Dragon Dash,  Family Fun Nights, and The Carnival. The PTO strives to provide a framework for parental involvement in addition to our hosted events. For example, our Room Parent program is an easy way for parents to engage with teachers, students, and other parents.

All of the money the PTO raises goes directly back to MDIH.  Our goal is to support teachers in multiple ways with a specific emphasis on programing. This programing will provide our students with learning opportunities they may not otherwise receive. For example, additional field trips, workshops that revolve around character and community building, artist in residence, author visits and more!  The PTO works with teachers and school administration help decide how to best use the funds.
