Frequently Asked ?s

What is the difference between recreational dance and competitive dance?

Rather than just performing in our two annual studio performances, competitive dancers attend 4-6 competition from February through May. Competition dances are dances that begin rehearsing in July. Though the competitions are February through May, competitive dancers dance all year round.

How much time do dancers "practice"?

In addition to required technique classes, competitive dancers attend one additional rehearsal day a week. These days are strictly for working on competition dances, either Tuesday or Friday. Required technique classes are generally held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. On average, dancers are at the studio 10 hours per week. Younger dancers vary.
