MAEA State Conference on Saturday, October 19th, will be held in person with an additional optional social hour event after the conclusion of the day. The conference will have sessions throughout the day for art educators to enjoy from discussions, art-making opportunities, and time to view numerous exhibit spaces and Etchison Davis library that Delaplaine Arts Center has to offer.
Registration is $45 for members and $100 for non-members.

Saturday, October 19th we will hold our state conference IN PERSON at the Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick, Maryland. The Delaplaine Arts Center is located along the beautiful Carroll Creek in the arts-rich city of Frederick, Maryland. The Delaplaine Arts Center has become a premiere arts education hub and provides the region with educational opportunities and experiences in the visual arts through classes, exhibits, and programs. In addition to vibrant studio spaces, they house five main on-site galleries, showcasing works by regional and national artists in more than 50 exhibitions annually. The Delaplaine also houses the Etchison Davis Library, one of the largest, free art references libraries open to the public in Maryland. The Etchison-Davis Library at the Delaplaine is one of the largest free art libraries in Maryland —offers more than 3,500 art reference books. The Library Space will be open all day during the conference as a space to research, reflect and plan on your own.
Learn the process of making cyanotype prints and solarfast colored sun prints. We will start each session with a brief history and overview of cyanotype printing. Engage with examples of my toning techniques, flower presses and fabric samples to show the wide range of projects this artform can encompass.
