I'm Md. Sakib Hossain, a young and enthusiastic researcher, currently working as a Research Assistant (RA) at the Thermochemical Processes group of Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE), Europe's largest solar research facility. I am also pursuing Master of Science in Sustainable Systems Engineering (SSE) degree at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Bangladesh. Although my research interests consist of several interconnected fields, 'sustainable energy conversion and storage' would probably cover the most of it. I have dedicated the bulk of my research activities till now to study the technical and economic feasibility of various renewable and sustainable energy technologies to promote low carbon energy generation. Currently, my works involve the assessment of the techno-economic and environmental aspects of different hydrogen carrier synthesis (Ammonia, MeOH, DME and LOHC), concentrating solar power (CSP) technologies for grid connected and remote power generation in Bangladesh, and production of sustainable aviation fuel via Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and MeOH pathway.

Alongside my technical domain, I am a person who would spend hours on choosing movies, TV-series or music that matches my taste. Sports and fitness have always been my thing since I was a kid. I often spend my weekends riding a bicycle around the countryside or taking part in different types of outdoor activities.

Traveling and photography have recently become an integral part of my life. If I could plan a day solely based on my imagination, I would love to see myself out in a soothing beach surrounded by mountainous terrain embedded within a deep forest. Surely one can take many important life lessons to continuously grow as an individual from being close to nature.

Undoubtedly, I still have a long way to go before I reach my desired destination in life and academic arena. But I believe human beings are equipped with a God gifted power to grow, learn, adapt, and improve with every breath till the last one. My motivation and inspiration to incessantly look for personal development can be abridged to a famous quote of the great philosopher John Ruskin, "Skill is the unified force of experience, intellect and passion in their operation."
