MD Inbox ("the app") is designed around a simple principle: your documents are yours. The app does not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information with the developer or any third party. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
None. The developer does not collect any personal data, usage data, or analytics from you. We have no servers that receive your information, and we have no ability to see your documents or how you use the app.
Your markdown files and app settings are stored:
On your device, and
In your personal iCloud account (if you enable iCloud), so your files can sync across your devices.
When iCloud is enabled, your files are stored in your own iCloud container and synchronized by Apple's iCloud service. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and your iCloud settings. The developer of MD Inbox cannot access this data.
The app's document-summarization feature uses Apple's on-device intelligence (Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models). Summaries are generated using Apple's system models on your device. Your document content is not sent to the developer of MD Inbox or to any third-party summarization service. This processing is subject to Apple's privacy terms for Apple Intelligence.
MD Inbox is not an offline-only app. It connects to the internet only when you ask it to, and only directly to the servers you choose. In these cases, no data is routed through or collected by the developer:
Importing content from a link. When you save or import content from a URL you provide (for example, a GitHub or web page link), the app connects directly to that website to fetch the content you requested.
Remote images in documents. If one of your markdown documents references an image hosted on the web, the app loads that image directly from its source server when displaying the document.
These connections are standard web requests made directly between your device and the third-party server you specified. Those third parties may receive your device's IP address and the request, as with any normal web access, and their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policies.
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information, because we do not collect it.
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
