MUCHAO YE

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Iowa. I completed my Ph.D. at Penn State under the supervision of Fenglong Ma and obtained my B.Eng. degree at South China University of Technology

My research interests broadly lie in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. My recent research interest is in the reasoning ability of vision-language models. I have also developed an understanding of the vulnerability of language models, with an emphasis on text adversarial attacks under practical constraints and certified robust training in a unified look. In addition, my research eyes on safety-critical applications such as video surveillance and healthcare.
