Kitten Season has kicked off! Meet the latest cuties at Mini Cat Town!
If we haven't covered something in another part of this site, you will find it here!
What is Mini Cat Town?
Mini Cat Town is a non-profit organization specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of neonatal kittens. We pull kittens from local shelters and place them into our foster programs where they can be nurtured till they are big enough to come to our adoption floor/kitten lounge here. We use this space to allow the kittens to socialize with people and also for people to see if they are ready to adopt or simply destress.
I've met a guest who would love to support Mini Cat Town. How can they do that other than being a guest?
The easiest ways to support us are by following our Instagram, buying merchandise, or coming to visit. We are also always looking for volunteers (18 years or older or accompanied by an adult) to help run Mini Cat Town. For teens in high school, they can also apply to be a part of our High School Volunteer Program! Another way to be involved is by becoming a foster for our kittens during kitten season (March-November). Interested people can apply to become a volunteer or foster on our website at www.minicattown.org
Do we have WiFi we (and guests) can connect to?
Yes! However, please be conscientious of your usage of your phone while you are volunteering.

I'd like to bring my friend/family member/etc to Mini Cat Town. Is that okay?
Yes! Volunteers are allowed one non-paying guest per volunteer for 30 minutes while on shift or off shift. Any additional guests of a volunteer must pay $10 for 30 minutes (which is the kids price!).
Please note: If we have a waiting list, guests must wait like normal. No skipping the line!
When we are not busy, volunteer guests can stay longer than 30 minutes. If we are at capacity, kindly ask your guest to leave after their 30 minutes. They can come back another day for more time with the kittens.
Guests must still sign general waivers to enter and follow all of the rules. They are not allowed in the back area. Anyone wishing to volunteer can fill out a volunteer application.
If a volunteer is bringing a guest to their shift, they must let their lead know as a courtesy and they must not neglect their volunteer duties.
A parent has a child that is under 2. Does the child need to wear a mask?
Children 2 and under do not need to wear a mask.
How old must a child be in order to enter Mini Cat Town by themselves?
Children must be 12 years or older to enter Mini Cat Town by themselves. They may also sign their own waivers BUT a parent signing for them is preferred.
Children under 12 must have an adult (18 and older) accompany them and have an adult waiver sign the waiver for them.
I have a family with a child under 2. Do they still need to pay the kid's price for that child?
No, children 2 and under can enter Mini Cat Town for free.
A guest came by who is active duty military. Is there a discount?
Active duty military are able to enter free of charge!
If a guest has visited before, do they need to fill out the waiver again?
Everyone entering the premises must now sign the waiver (even if they have signed it before).
Children 12-17 years old can enter Mini Cat Town without a parent or guardian. They may also sign their own waivers BUT a parent signing for them is preferred.
How do we process merchandise purchases?
Merchandise purchases can be completed on the Square app where you process guest entry fees. Please note that there are two prices for merchandise, the regular price and the volunteer price. Make sure to select the regular price for guests. Please let your lead know if you run into any issues!
To find merchandise:
Shirts, beanies, hoodies/sweatshirts, pop sockets, cat kickers, and totes are all stored in the back storage area in the right most shelves.
Ornaments, keychains, and masks are stored at the front desk. Masks are in a basket and ornaments and keychains are in a bag in the bottom right drawer.
A customer asked for a refund. Do we give refunds?
All sales are FINAL. There are no refunds. This is listed in the waiver that guests sign prior to entry. Please make sure that everyone, including children under 2 years old, are able to keep their masks on at all times.
Guests sometimes ask why they need to pay to come in. Where do their entrance fees go so I can educate them?
We are a 501c non-profit rescue and the admission fee goes towards feeding/housing the cats and their medical needs like getting them fixed. All the staff you see here (including you!) are volunteers and the admission price helps us keep the cats healthy and help us keep Mini Cat Town open.
Are admission fees tax deductible? What about donations? What about adoption fees?
Admission fees and adoption fees are not tax deductible. This is because we are providing a service in exchange for money. Donations are tax deductible!
How does the adoption process work? Do we do same day adoptions?
We do not do same day adoptions.
Guests interested in adopting must first fill out an application online (www.minicattown.org). There are business cards at the front desk that you can give to the guest with our website listed on there. After the application is submitted, it can take 1-2 weeks to get a notification on whether the application is approved or rejected as we do get many applications that we need to vet. If and when the application is approved, they are then are invited to schedule a meeting at Mini Cat Town with one of our adoption counselors who will go over the different available cats, their personalities, and see if they can find a mutually beneficial match.
Available kittens are listed on the Mini Cat Town website.
How much does it cost to adopt a cat? What does that money go towards?
We have a tiered system for adoption fees that is based on the amount of time the kitten has been on the adoption floor. The prices range from $500 for kittens newly on the floor to $200 for our older kittens who have been here longer. 100% of the fees are re-invested back into our rescue work and allows us to rescue more kittens. All the cats that we adopt out are all medically sound and have been cleared by a vet for adoption. All the cats have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, up to date on all their vaccinations, regularly dewormed and deflead, and blood tested for FELV and FIV (all negative unless otherwise stated).
How do I get a volunteer t-shirt?
Easy! We reward volunteers for simply being a volunteer and being on a volunteer shift. Your shift lead will reward virtual Cat Cash at the end of your shift and once you've accumulated enough, you can redeem them for a variety of Mini Cat Town swag; including the coveted t-shirt! More information on the Cat Cash program can be found on the Volunteer Resources page.
All call-outs must be made 24 hours in advance. You can post to the group, send in an email, or message your lead personally. Any call-outs made less than 24 hours in advance will count against you unless it was a legitimate emergency (with a doctor's note). Plan your time wisely, and do not make a commitment you cannot keep. It is disrespectful to your entire team and really lets everyone down, even the kittens. As a reminder, 2 no-shows constitutes termination from our volunteer program.
Emails for call-outs can be sent to: mct-leads@googlegroups.com
As an active volunteer (part of this group) you are expected to volunteer at least one shift every two weeks. High Schoolers- you must volunteer at least once a week to remain in good standing. If you cannot keep to this commitment, please remove yourself or you will removed during a general sweep.
We are going to crack down on attendance. Each volunteer is allowed up to 2 no-shows and 3 tardies. If you reach that limit, you will automatically be removed from the group without notice. This is a volunteer program, and no one is a babysitter. Please have integrity to the group and honor the commitments you choose to take on.
