The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is a multidisicplinary organization of 14,000 members in applied mathematics and computational science. The SIAM Activity Group in the Life Sciences fosters the application of mathematics to the life sciences and research in mathematics that leads to new methods and techniques useful in the life sciences, including drug development. The Life Sciences group has about 850 members and organizes a topical conference in even years.
The Society for Mathematical Biology (SMB) is an international organization of thousands of members that combine mathematical and computational tools to study important open problems in the biological sciences presented in the Bulletin of Mathematical Biology. In addition to yearly meetings there are many award and funding opportunities for members.
