MCRS 2026 invites scholars and practitioners to explore the evolving role of corpus linguistics in an era shaped by advanced intelligences and rapid technological change. We welcome innovative and critical contributions that examine how corpus-based and language research are challenged, transformed, or enhanced by emerging technologies, with sustainability as a guiding concern.
Advanced intelligences extend beyond Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI to include technologies such as natural language processing (NLP), quantum computing, immersive and extended realities, and advanced connectivity (IoT). Contributions may also address real-world implications of increasingly sophisticated AI and automation, including ethical challenges and misuse—such as deepfakes, astroturfing, automated persuasion, and AI-enabled plagiarism in educational and professional contexts.
With sustainability at its core, MCRS 2026 particularly encourages interdisciplinary perspectives that explore intersections between corpus research and other fields. Submissions may demonstrate how corpus methodologies complement or strengthen approaches in applied linguistics and emerging domains such as generative AI, or critically reflect on the continued relevance and future trajectories of corpus research.
