High School Enrollment:
Our high school enrollment has dropped from over 900 when I was a senior just six years ago, to potentially under 700 next year in a school built to accomodate well over 1,200 students. My concern is that this could lead to further budget cuts, fewer engaging electives and extracurriculars offered, and lower school morale for students, parents and teachers. To avoid this outcome, I will advocate for our high school as an attractive and well-equipped school built to prepare future leaders in the business, civic, and technical world.
Transparency in Negotiations:
I believe in doing everything possible to negotiate a fair contract between the teachers and the town that benefits all stakeholders, including parents and students. Because of that, I support this year's decision by both parties to make negotiating sessions open to public viewing, and I highly encourage all interested residents to watch the meetings on YouTube as I have.
