Willamette Valley Middle School Orchestra Festival

The Third Annual Willamette Valley Middle School Orchestra Festival

Thursday, March 23, 2023

McNary High School -- Keizer, Oregon

The Willamette Valley Middle School Orchestra Festival is designed to foster the improvement of middle school orchestras in the Pacific Northwest. Students will have the opportunity to perform in an outstanding auditorium and to receive feedback from two knowledgeable and experienced adjudicators, one of whom will clinic the group after its performance.

This festival is non-competitive and is open to all middle school orchestras. We will have room for fifteen string orchestras on a first-come, first-served basis. Schools are welcome to bring more than one orchestra.

Each orchestra will have 25 minutes on stage for set-up, tuning, and performance. We ask that all groups stay to hear at least two other orchestras’ performances.

Orchestras will be evaluated using the OSAA / OBDA Band & Orchestra Evaluation Form and Instrumental Evaluation Scale. Festival ratings are available on the middle school scale.

After their performance, each orchestra will receive a digital audio recording and a certificate.

Registration fee: $200 for first group, $150 for each additional group from the same school.
