BIOROCK offers a unique, innovative solution to eco-friendly septic water treatment. With the industry’s lowest operational costs and longest emptying intervals, BIOROCK is a valuable, worthwhile investment for your home or establishment.
We are proud to offer BIOROCK treatment systems as an option in our septic designs. BIOROCK's advanced treatment technology uses a combination of aerobic/anoxic biological degradation and filtration to promote bacteria growth and increase the efficiency of the decomposition process.
The efficiency of these systems creates the unique advantage of a reduced septic field size, lower maintenance costs, and the ability to handle intermittent/seasonal loadings (E.g. Holiday homes, Camping Sites, etc.)
BIOROCK offers a wide range of treatment tanks with capacities suitable anywhere from 2-30 people. Treatment tanks may be used in parallel to create larger treatment plants for communities or commercial establishments.
The ECOROCK unit functions as a small two-stage wastewater treatment plant. The raw sewage first enters a primary holding tank to provide separation and initial breakdown of organic solids. The wastewater then passes through an effluent filter before discharging into the BIOROCK unit itself which proceeds with the aerobic filtration process.
The last stage of the process happens in the layers of BIOROCK media. The BIOROCK media is pretreated with enzymes to stimulate the growth of specific bacteria. These bacteria colonize the media in vast numbers and feed on the organic waste which accelerates the decomposition process. The effluent is then discharged to the septic field by gravity or by a pump.
Where required the ECOROCK Series can be retrofitted to a traditional septic tank.
*Capacity denotes the maximum possible capacity of the tanks. Actual capacity will vary depending on usage
FOR COMMUNITY OR COMMERCIAL TREATMENT SOLUTIONS
Step 1 : Primary Tank
The Primary Tank treats raw sewage by dividing fats, oils, greases and organic solids. The sewage then passes through an effluent filter, before discharging into a series of BIOROCK reactors. Multiple tanks may be used to increase the capacity of the system.
Step 2 : BIOREACTORS
A series of Bioreactors further purify the pretreated wastewater using a biological process. To naturally treat the wastewater, these systems use specialized BIOROCK Media, an exclusive and very efficient carrier material for bacteria. The number and type of Bioreactors will depend on the capacity of the system.
Step 3 : Discharge
Effluent will be discharged by gravity, or by a pump to a dispersal field.
