Responding to calls: This includes fires (structure, vehicle, wildland), medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, hazardous material incidents, water rescues, and other disasters.
On-scene operations: Duties vary depending on the emergency but can include:
Firefighting: Laying and connecting hoses, operating pumps, directing water streams, raising ladders, using extinguishers, and ventilating buildings.
Rescue: Performing various rescue techniques, including vehicle extrication, high-angle rescue, and water rescue.
Medical aid: Providing first aid, CPR, and other emergency medical care to injured individuals.
Hazardous materials: Identifying and handling hazardous materials incidents.
Training Provided
Preparing reports and documents: Creating reports, presentations, and other documents as needed.
Fundraising and community outreach: Assisting with fundraising efforts and participating in community outreach events.
Public relations: Promoting the department's activities and maintaining a positive image in the community.
