Welcome to the McLoughlin Lab, established in September 2019 in the Department of Neurology at Michigan Medicine. Our goal is to uncover pathogenic mechanisms and develop therapeutic interventions for neurodegenerative diseases, with a particular emphasis on those that cause hereditary ataxias. We utilize cell culture systems, mouse models, and human tissue and biofluid samples to study disease processes. Our areas of expertise include surgical interventions, genetics, and a wide array of molecular and cellular biology techniques.

McLoughlin Lab Mission Statement
