The SgtMaj Michael S. Curtin Marine Corps League Detachment 1124 is proud to serve the communities of East Pasco and the surrounding Tampa Bay area.

Our mission extends beyond supporting Marines and veterans. We believe in being present, visible, and active in the communities we call home.

If your business, school, nonprofit, veterans organization, assisted-living community, civic group, or local organization is planning an event, honoring veterans, supporting families, or simply needs a few extra hands, we want to hear from you.

Color Guard & Presentation of Colors

Add dignity and tradition to your event with a Marine Corps League Color Guard.

We may be able to support:

Grand openings
Sporting events
Community ceremonies
Conferences and banquets
School events
Veterans events
Civic meetings
Memorial ceremonies
Other patriotic occasions

Flag-Raising Ceremonies

Whether you're dedicating a new flagpole, replacing a flag, recognizing a special occasion, or simply want to properly honor the Colors, our members can help conduct a meaningful flag-raising ceremony.

We can also assist with flag etiquette, patriotic observances, and appropriate ceremonial procedures.

Veteran Recognition

Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is make sure a veteran knows their service has not been forgotten.

Our members may be available to participate in veteran recognition events at:

Assisted-living communities
Nursing homes
Schools
Churches
Businesses
Community organizations
Veteran events

Patriotic & Memorial Ceremonies

Our members may be available to participate in ceremonies recognizing:

Memorial Day
Veterans Day
September 11th
POW/MIA Recognition
Marine Corps Birthday
Flag retirement ceremonies
Military and veteran memorials
Other patriotic observances

Toys for Tots Support

Detachment 1124 proudly supports the Marine Toys for Tots program.

We can help connect local businesses and organizations with authorized Toys for Tots collection efforts and may be able to provide volunteers, community outreach, promotion, and support during local toy drives.

Community Service & Volunteer Support

Marines are accustomed to getting the mission accomplished.

When local organizations are doing meaningful work in our community, our members may be able to lend a hand.

Potential projects may include:

Community cleanups
Veteran memorial projects
Food or supply drives
Nonprofit events
Veteran and military-family initiatives
Event setup and support
Community outreach activities
Assistance with charitable projects

Schools, Youth & Civic Organizations

We welcome opportunities to help educate and inspire the next generation.

Our members may be available for:

Flag etiquette demonstrations
Veteran guest speakers
Patriotic programs
Career and military-service discussions
Scout events
JROTC/ROTC support
School Veterans Day programs
Youth leadership events

Veteran Outreach

If your organization serves veterans or military families, we would like to know about it.

We are always looking for opportunities to connect veterans with their community, recognize their service, support local veteran initiatives, and build relationships with organizations doing meaningful work.

Not every community need fits neatly into a category. If you have a project, event, initiative, or organization that could benefit from Marine Corps League involvement, reach out to us.

If the request is appropriate for our mission and we have members available, we will do our best to support it!

There Is No Obligation to Donate

Our goal is simple: serve our community. We do not want organizations to hesitate to contact us because they believe they must make a donation or become a sponsor.

There is generally no charge for our community support. Organizations wishing to help us continue serving veterans, Marines, their families, and our local community are always welcome to make a donation or learn about Detachment sponsorship opportunities, but financial support is never a requirement for requesting our assistance.

Why We Do It

The Marine Corps taught us that service does not end when the uniform comes off. Through the Marine Corps League, Marines, FMF Corpsmen, FMF Chaplains, and Associate Members continue that tradition by serving veterans, strengthening our communities, honoring our nation, and looking after one another.

Every ceremony we participate in, veteran we recognize, community project we support, and relationship we build helps strengthen the connection between our Marines and the community we serve.
