What grows here we split three ways. We keep one part, we sell one part, and we give one part away.
Telios is a one-acre farm owned and operated by Rebecca Vogt and her number one farmhand, husband Tom.
Our commitment is to work with natural systems. To this end, we employ organic and permaculture principles. We are growing in our relationship with natural cycles, learning ways to grow food and raise animals for the benefit of all.
Telios is a Greek word meaning whole or complete.
The retreats and workshops I lead, the courses I teach, the mentoring and consulting I provide, and the stories I write aspire to help us awaken to our intrinsic wholeness. Together, we heal wounds that keep us from seeing our essential goodness and beauty, from knowing it deep down in our bones. Then we begin dismantling obstacles to our authentic, vibrant living.
We are lovable, good, and beautiful simply because we exist. Our essence is that same “Love that moves the sun and the other stars,” as Dante wrote.
Let’s live out of that essence, for the good of all.
Rebecca, what follows here is a love letter to you from a few of the people you have blessed in your 60 years on this Earth. As you savor the images, videos, and words, may you feel our love for you coursing through your entire magnificent being!
Since 2007, Jacob Cruser has been documenting in words and images his adventures on rivers and streams, particularly in Oregon and Washington. While Jacob kayaks for his own passion and reasons and has little to no interest in being known for what he has accomplished - such as holding the world record for the highest waterfall run in an inflatable kayak (approximately 82') - I have less hesitation. Rebecca and I once rafted a section of the Sandy River with Jacob and his wife Priscilla and our daughter Sage. On the morning of our second day, three kayakers approached the shore of the bank on which we had made camp overnight and began talking to Jacob. When I asked how they knew each other, one of them said, "Well, this guy is a legend around here."
That's all I'll say for now.
