In 2001 (or thereabouts),  the family participated in a ritual to celebrate who we were then as a community of people. Connected by blood and the choice to love and include, we each belonged to this clan then known as the McLaughlins and Evans. And some of us were also intimately connected to other clans 

While I don't remember the exact details of the ritual, I do remember that we reflected on something like the gifts each of us possessed within us and offered to our family, and we wrote those on small slips of paper. We then burned those papers, mixed the ashes with soil, and placed the mix into the pot. Then we planted seeds that would be nourished by those same gifts and the energy of love that bound those gifts together into our unique expression of Love in the world.

In 2024, that same pot sat with us as we participated in The Legacy Project Experience at Telios Farm.
