Course Synopis
Big data is an evolution from traditional data analysis that allows big data technologies to fit within the existing enterprise of the IT environment. This course introduces students to the fundamental concept of big data architectural design to be used for scalable management and processing vast quantities of data. It introduces a universal layout of data architecture components for reasoning with all forms of data. It will also examine the underlying principles and technologies needed to capture big data, clean it, contextualize it, store it, access it, and trust it for a repurposed use. Students will be able to understand big data management through Hadoop architecture and ecosystems of the tools. At the end of the course, students will be able to demonstrate their skills by working with the open-source platform for big data handling in assignments and projects.
