About Me

Welcome! My name is Ms. Turner and I am the McKinley Middle Magnet Dance Department Instructor. I am so excited to share my love of the art of D A N C E alongside others who share that same love. I am born and raised in Baton Rouge. I graduated high school from U-High and attended LSU where I received my bachelor degree in Fashion! 

My love of dance started at the young age of 2 years old when I took my very first dance class! Fast forward years later and I am STILL just as in love with the art as I was walking into the studio for the first time 30+ years ago! I have been teaching dance at Powell-Moise School of Dance since 2009- this is also the studio I grew up in for 15 years! I have won numerous dance titles, scholarships, and choreography awards and have studied under well respected teachers and choreographers in the industry- Debbie Allen, Mia Michaels, Joe Tremaine...the list goes on and on! 

I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with such talented students! Here's to a great 2026-2027 school year!
