Building Design Plans
No two projects are the same and at R.I. McKay & Associates we try to provide a service on an individual basis although the basic procedure is as follows.
We would arrange to carry out a site visit and site survey at a mutually convenient time to meet and discuss your requirements and proposals.
From there we would look to produce a preliminary scheme drawing which should reflect your proposal and which may contain alternative schemes, notes and/or any advice which we may feel is appropriate. If appropriate, the preliminary scheme will be amended following further discussion with yourself.
Once a preliminary scheme has been agreed, we would then provide you with an estimate of our fee together with advice on whether Planning Permission and/or Building Regulations is required and the fees involved with these applications. We do not normally charge a fee up to this point and certainly not without prior agreement.
Once you are happy with the scheme and estimate we would produce drawing(s) for the application(s) and then provide you with a copy. Provided you are happy the application drawing(s) we would then submit the application(s) to the relevant bodies and provide you with details of how to pay the application fees. We will then supply you with paper copies of the drawing(s) and our invoice. If you have been recommended by a builder we would also provide them with a copy of the drawing(s).
Normally, our next contact would be when the application(s) have been approved but if the Planning Department or Building Control require further details or amendments then we would arrange to provide this in consultation with yourself as appropriate.
