Open to a member, child, grandchild, or family member of a CBTU member in good standing, or a youth in the Black community. School Sponsored Queen's Chancellor's Scholarship
Students who demonstrate superior academic ability, creative and original thinking, involvement in school or community activities, and proven leadership can apply for a Queen’s MAA. Financial need is also a consideration for some of the Awards. Note: To be considered for the Chancellor’s Scholarship, the applicant must receive a nomination from the high school where they most recently attended full-time study. The number of nominations per high school is based on graduating class size: Less than 250: One nominee. 250-499: Up to two nominees. 500 or greater: Up to three nominees.
The MAAs ($48,000-$72,000) are available to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. You may attend high school in Canada or internationally. Students taking a gap year can still apply for the major admission awards.

Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Canada (AFOA): Nutrien Indigenous Youth Financial Management Awards
Open to youth of Indigenous ancestry in Grades 11 and 12 pursuing postsecondary in areas of finance, management, commerce, accounting, or related fields. Eligibility: The applicant must be academically successful. Required: Proof of Indigenous ancestry; essay (maximum 1500 words); two letters of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counsellor, etc; transcript. Award: Three recipients will receive a five-year scholarship package valued at over $5,000; complimentary travel to the next AFOA National Conference in Halifax, NS, in February 2025; prize package valued at $200.

The Bronfman Fellowship (for Gr. 11 Students)
The Bronfman Fellowship is open to students who are in the 11th Grade in the fall of 2024, who self-identify as Jewish, and who are from the United States or Canada. You do not need to be a top student to be a Bronfman Fellow; innovative thinking and creativity are valued more than a high GPA. Every year, twenty-six intellectually curious North American teenagers are selected as Bronfman Fellows. U of G’s Top Scholarships are worth $42,500 each. You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada to be eligible to apply.
The President’s Scholarship (seven awards) and The Lincoln Alexander Chancellor’s Scholarships (two awards) recognize students entering a degree program with a minimum 90% admission average who have made significant leadership and innovative contributions to their schools and/or communities and demonstrate the potential to become a leader in society. The DMZ (Toronto Metropolitan University's business incubator for early-stage technology startups) is funding 20 $500 micro grants for Greater Toronto Area high school students (Grades 9-12) to support the building of a tech related project. “The grants can be used for something you’re working on in school, but they don’t have to be. . . If you have an idea for a personal project, side hustle, or hobby that you want to build, but money is holding you back, you should apply for these grants.” Ten of these grants will be available specifically for students who identify as Black.

Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL) National Education Scholarships
Target applicant: Open to members of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets who are entering or pursuing their post-secondary education. Note: Some scholarships are offered to all cadets while some are restricted to cadets that will be studying in a specific field. Other scholarships are offered to cadets who meet other requirements, as stipulated by the donors.

Army Cadet League of Canada: (17.3) Young Citizens Foundation Scholarship Award
Target applicant: Open to students in their final year of, or who have completed, high school.
Eligibility: The applicant must have applied to, or intend to apply to, an accredited post-secondary education institution in Canada. They must have demonstrated outstanding dedication to their Army Cadet Corps and as a “caring and responsible leader” also demonstrated the will and ability to assist younger or fellow cadets or other young persons in their community. Investintech - CAJ (Canadian Association of Journalists) Journalism Scholarship
Open to students currently accepted to or enrolled in a college or university in Canada pursuing a course of studies or program leading to a diploma, undergraduate or graduate degree.
Eligibility: The applicant must show evidence of their journalism skills and interest.
Required: The applicant must submit a published item, class assignment or even an item on a personal blog (minimum 500 words). The work must have been produced within one calendar year of the scholarship closing date. The submission must include an example of a work of journalism that shows the application of data skills and at least one data visualization produced by the student. The applicant must also submit an explanation of what they did and how they did it. For submissions that were part of a group project, applicants must explain their role, the skills they used in fulfilling that role, and the specific parts of the story, or stories, that their contribution influenced.
Award: $1,000, a free one-year membership with the CAJ, and one free pass to the CAJ National Annual Conference in Calgary, May 30-31.

Two students will be selected based on their academic standing, voluntary community involvement, leadership, character, aspiration to make a difference. Each recipient will receive $1,000 per year for the duration of their studies, up to a maximum of 4 years (subject to renewal requirements).

The Bill 7 Award for 2SLGBTQI+ Students
This scholarship is for students who identify as LGBTQ2SI+ and who have demonstrated financial need. Must be attending a post-secondary institution next year. Last year, 19 scholarships of $4000 and three recurring multi-year scholarship of $4000 per year were awarded.

James D. Hogarth Award
James D. Hogarth scholarship is awarded to encourage and promote the attainment of higher educational goals for individuals with a proven financial need. Consideration given to students who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement, have made a positive contribution to their school through involvement in extracurricular activities, and have made significant contributions of time and energy to community services programmes (application process).
