Dec 18, 2019 - Die-hard Carrillo fans braving the rain, both JV and Varsity teams came out victorious against El Molino High School tonight! JV won 6-0, Varsity 1-0

Nov 29, 2019 - The MCHS Men’s Soccer 2nd annual Alumni Game was another success! Current and ex-Puma players showed off their skills, battled on the field and bonded over their shared love of soccer today. Several 20 minute halves ended in a win for the alumni team. Later, they mixed up the current players and graduates to play a few more rounds and were all treated to pizza by Coach Brady and Coach Castaneda. Thanks to all the players who showed up today!

Nov 26, 2019 - Maria Carrillo Men’s Soccer players, coaches, parents and future Pumas volunteered at the Redwood Food Bank this morning. They spent a couple of hours bagging apples in the warehouse and they got pretty good at tying knots to make the mesh bags by the end! This is the second year the Puma men’s soccer teams volunteered at the Food Bank during Thanksgiving break. It is becoming a great tradition for the program to give back to the community. Awesome Puma spirit!!

May 15, 2019 - Congratulations to the following seniors in the men's soccer program for receiving awards at last night's Maria Carrillo High School Senior Awards Ceremony ! MCHS Puma Athletic Boosters "Male Athlete of the Year" was awarded to Men's soccer captain Ryan Dieter for his outstanding performance in soccer as well as in football as a kicker. Matthew Breazeale,  Bryan Suarez Alvarado and Ryan Dieter received the California State Seal of Biliteracy medals. Bryan Suarez Alvarado was recognized for receiving the Lois B. Craig Scholarship. William Cruz was honored for completing the two-year Puma Pathway Academy for Work & Service. Way to go, Puma soccer players!

April 12, 2019 - Fun night @ All Stars game this evening at Carrillo! Coached by MCHS Varsity Coach Trevor Brady, the North team (MCHS, Cardinal Newman, Piner, SRHS, El Molino, Windsor, Healdsburg, Cloverdale, Geyserville, Ukiah, Rincon Christian) ,cruised to a 7-4 victory against the South (Montgomery, Rancho Cotate, Casa Grande, Elsie Allen, Petaluma, Roseland Prep, Tomales, Technology High. Sonoma Academy, St. Vincent, Sonoma) ! The players enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow seniors from high schools across Sonoma County. Great memories before graduation!

March 4, 2019 - Hello Puma soccer fans! High School season is over, players have gone back to club soccer or moved on to play spring sports but here's another big shout-out to the MCHS men's soccer program! The North Bay League Redwood Division champions have won various accolades this season. MCHS Varsity Coach Trevor Brady was named NBL Redwood Division Coach of the Year and Senior Ryan Dieter was unanimously voted NBL Redwood Division MVP. A total of 8 Puma players made All League 1st and 2nd teams - Senior Javier Tovar, Junior Matthew Wojick, Junior Rohan Crossland & Sophomore Edgar Guerra for the 1st team, Senior Justin Simpson, Junior James Roh, Sophomore Derek Uemura & Freshman Oswaldo Rodriguez for the 2nd team. As soon as NBL releases the official announcements, it will be shared here! But in the meantime, congrats! Go Pumas! *Thank you to MCHS teachers Cindy Lui & Natasha Deakins for sharing the photos!

Feb 20, 2019 - End of season Team Banquet. Thanks to all those who attended and/or brought in food to share. JV & Varsity boys, coaches & families enjoyed hanging out for the last time this season. They ate tons of food, watched game highlights and reminisced about their memorable plays. JV Coach Carlos Castaneda and Varsity Coach Trevor Brady handed out various awards for both teams, including recognitions for academics, best defensive, offensive and midfield players, P.U.M.A award, Golden Glove and MVPs etc. Senior players were individually acknowledged, while captains of both teams extended their gratitude to all 4 coaches for their hard work and guidance this season. The Pumas have a lot to celebrate this year. In addition to winning the North Bay League Redwood Division, NBL has unanimously chosen MCHS Senior Ryan Dieter for MVP of the division, and MCHS Coach Brady as the division's "Coach of the Year"!! Pumas also got four players selected for the division's 1st team and another four players for the 2nd team. What an achievement! Woohoo! Go Pumas!

Feb 11, 2019 - The MCHS men's soccer team received the champions banner from the North Bay League Commissioner at today's practice. And keeping his promise with the boys, Coach Gustavo showed up to practice with bleached hair! At the beginning of the season, the team did a bet with the coaches: If Carrillo won the League, all the coaches would bleach their hair! Coach Brady and Coach Castaneda are next??

Feb 11, 2019 - A big round of applause to the MCHS JV team for their outstanding 2018-2019 season! The JV Pumas wrapped up their league games on Saturday with a record of 5 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss. Their overall record this season was 7 wins, 4 ties and 4 losses. Great job, boys! Thank you Coach Carlos Castenda for all you've done for the boys this season. Thanks also to all the JV parents and families for giving rides to players, helping out at games throughout the season and most of all for coming out to cheer, encourage and show the Puma spirit for the boys! Go Carrillo!

Feb 9, 2019 - Congratulations to the 12 senior Pumas and their families today! They sure got a memorable send-off on this wild winter day. The weather cooperated during the "Senior Night" ceremony where the senior players and families were honored with flowers and lei, but rain returned with a vengeance during the game that followed. Nevertheless, the Carrillo boys stayed strong to beat Piner and became champions of the NBL Redwood division! Thank you to MCHS soccer parents Deb and Jason Breazeale for organizing the senior ceremony, and to Varsity Coaches Trevor Brady, Gustavo Flores & Jacob Quint, and JV Coach Carlos Castaneda for your support throughout the season. 2018-2019 Senior players were: #4 Sam Wong, #6 Javier Tovar, #7 William Cruz, #8 Ryan Dieter, #9 CJ Des Bordes, #10 Justin Simpson, #11 Matthew Breazeale, #14 Bryan Suarez, #17 Humberto Rojas, #21 Spencer Adams, #22 Travis Yarbrough, #23 Jesus Hernandez. Feb 4, 2019 - A huge shout-out to Aguila Real restaurant in Santa Rosa for hosting a team dinner for JV&Varsity players this evening! The players enjoyed awesome Mexican food and some team-bonding time at the restaurant, owned by one of our Puma soccer families. Thank you! Our thanks also go out to Varsity soccer coach Brady and MCHS soccer parent Jason Breazeale for taking the photos!

Nov 16, 2018 - Congratulations to MCHS Senior Ryan Dieter for signing the National Letter of Intent to play soccer at UC Davis! A Carrillo Men's Soccer Team varsity player since his freshman year, Ryan hopes to represent the best of Sonoma County and make Maria Carrillo High School proud when he joins the Aggies!! Also attending the NLI signing ceremony today at MCHS was Frances O'Donnell from the MCHS Women's soccer team, who will be playing soccer for the University of Vermont Catamounts, and Aimee Armstrong, who will be running Cross Country and Track and Field for Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Congratulations Ryan, Frances and Aimee! Go Pumas!!
