What are the Monroe County History Museum's hours of operation and location?
The Monroe County History Museum is located in the historic brick railroad depot on the corner of East Johnston Street and East Adams Street. Admission is free, but donations help us achieve our mission.

How can I become a member or volunteer with the Monroe County Historical Society?
Membership and volunteer opportunities are open to all who share an interest in preserving Monroe County’s history.
Our annual dues are $60 per year (translates to $5 a month!). You can join or sign up to volunteer by contacting us directly by email at monroecogahistory@gmail.com. Or click the link below:

How can I donate artifacts, documents, or funds to support the society’s mission?
We gratefully accept donations of historical artifacts, documents, and photographs that relate to Monroe County’s heritage. Monetary donations are also welcome to support preservation and programming efforts. Please contact us to discuss your donation.
Does the society offer tours, events, or educational programs for visitors and schools?
Yes! We offer guided tours of historic sites, special events, lectures, and educational programs tailored for schools and community groups. When and where do the Society's programs take place? Do you have to be a member?
Monthly programs are held in the Conley building with a variety of exciting topics and speakers. Programs are held on the first Monday of the month at 7 PM. The Conley building is the stone depot located next to the museum. Join the Monroe County Historical Society and follow us on Facebook to receive updates about our upcoming programs and events.
Programs are free and open to the public, but joining the MCHS helps us achieve our mission.
*July & August = No Programs; programs take place on the following Monday if the 1st Monday is a Holiday.
