Letter from Grandmaster Fesum:

To my succesor:

In the grand library of our Timekeeper Order, sealed behind seven gates, encased within seven chests, and bound by seven chains, rests a collection of tablets. Only the Grandmaster of the Order is permitted to manipulate them for the order's scholars are certain they are the original texts.

The tablets bears no glyphs, no sigils, no incantations. Outside of some ornamentation and symbols added at a later date, their surfaces hold nothing but plain, runic text.

Among the scholars of our Order, they are spoken of only in hushed tones and with deep reverence. To us the text is known as The Books of Creation, or, in rarer moments, The Books of Selizar.

Selizar himself is a little-known prophet. Beyond the closely guarded tablets, only fragments of his work survive, mostly in the form of copies of copies whose authenticity is often disputed. The teachings of the so-called Mad Prophet endure mostly through oral tradition, preserved by mysteries, secret cults and fringe societies collectively referred to as Selizarists.

This motley collection of small, loosely bound groups is scarcely tolerated across Ikram. The Dragon Lords expend great effort to exile them when discovered. The technocrats of the Iron City dismiss them as superstitious lunatics in need of reeducation and the Devanuric Church condemns them outright as heretics, deserving nothing less than death.

And yet, the Timekeepers believe it may be Selizar, the outcast, the prophet, the madman, who came closer than any other to unveiling the true secrets of creation.

I have included a transcript of the tablets below. For your eyes only.
