A GAD cooperative, or a cooperative implementing the Gender and Development (GAD) framework, integrates gender equality into its operations to ensure women and men benefit equally from cooperative development and achieve their full potential. Governed by the Philippine Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) through directives like MC 2013-22, these cooperatives must establish GAD policies, appoint a GAD Focal Person, and allocate budgets for GAD programs and projects. GAD efforts help overcome gender stereotypes, promote fairness, and foster a more inclusive and equitable cooperative sector. Â
