Schools typically teach about Jefferson and Franklin- the two least religious amongst the group. There were 52 Founding Fathers. There are 52 weeks in a year. Take time to learn the truth about their lives, principles, and contributions to this great republic. Each of us, especially students, need to learn about our founding father. They were an electric, diverse group of fellows. Find links to biographies in the section below.

Dr. Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of America’s most influential Founding Fathers, was one of the first Founders to call for free, national, public schools. A distinguished physician and scientist. He was the architect of what a republic education required and he understood the role of an educated citizenry as regards the stability of a republic.
