FAQ's

Is there a central theme to the conference?

The Cognitive Science of Religion and Naturalistic Philosophy

Where will the conference be held?

The conference will be held in the lecture hall (290) of the Psychology and Interdisciplinary Sciences Building (PAIS) on Emory’s campus in Atlanta.

Where can I stay if I am coming in from out of town?

There are many hotels in the greater Atlanta area. The closest to Emory is the Emory Conference Center Hotel.

The nearby town of Decatur (3 miles away) is accessible from the airport by MARTA and the Courtyard by Marriott - Downtown Decatur offers a complimentary shuttle to Emory campus.

How do I get from the airport to my hotel?

Atlanta is served by Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and ground transportation can be managed by rental car, Uber, Lyft, taxi service, shuttle, or public transportation (click for more information about MARTA).  Depending on traffic/time of day, car services from the Airport to Emory Conference Center Hotel can take anywhere from ½ hour to an hour or more.

Do I need to RSVP for the conference dates?

YES.  If you haven’t already, please RSVP to let us know that you plan to attend.  This helps us to make sure we have appropriate resources for all our guests.

Where can I find the conference schedule?

The SCHEDULE is posted on this site.

Can I watch the presentations if I’m not able to attend in person?

We will be utilizing ZOOM to record each presentation (see below) and therefore can accommodate remote “attendance”. If you wish to view any of the presentations this way, you will need to register for the link beforehand. Please visit the SPEAKERS page where you will find links to register for each speaker you’d like to attend virtually. Please do not wait to register until the conference begins as we may not be able to assist you with any technical difficulties.

Will the talks be recorded? Will they be available after the conference if I can’t attend in person?

We plan to record all lectures. The full event/all speaker presentations will be recorded and posted after the event on our website’s “Podcast & Video” page in both podcast (audio) and video format.
