The primary goal of the Marian Central Catholic Athletic Booster Club is to provide both resources and exposure to our student athletes so that they can have the best experience possible while participating in athletics at Marian. A secondary goal is to provide both parents and alumni an avenue to socialize and connect, along with a way to give back to the school either financially and/or through a volunteer role. The MCC Booster Club has a number of membership options that supporters of MCC athletics can choose from to help raise funds and awareness for student athletes.

Mary Kate Hernon - Senior / Volleyball 

Mary Kate is a senior captain of the Volleyball team. In 3 matches in August Mary Kate recorded 12 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks and 4 digs.  More important than her stats early in the season is her consistent presence and leadership on the court in games and in practice. 

Mary Kate is actively involved in the Marian community, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and active in the Mental Health Club and Friends of Rachel Club.  She maintains a 3.77 cumulative GPA.

Mrs. Bordeaux, one of her coaches wrote, ” What stands out most about Mary Kate is how much she has grown during her time in our volleyball program. She has developed from a timid young athlete into a confident senior captain and leader. She has embraced the responsibility of leading a young team and continues to show up each day with a positive attitude, ready to work and help those around her improve.  Mary Kate represents what we hope to see in a Marian student-athlete: growth, perseverance, leadership, faith, and a commitment to her teammates and school community.”

Zach Wheadon - Junior / Cross Country

Zach is one of Marian Central’s top cross-country runners.  He recently placed in the top 30 in the County Meet.  His coach praised Zach for his hard work at each practice and how he encourages his teammates to strive for their best and help them and the team improve.

Zach is also a wrestler, member of the Spanish Honor Society, Campus Ministry, the Mexico Service Project and the Mentor Program at Marian Central.  He also is involved in the Launch Sauganash Study Center which focuses on developing character and leadership qualities in high school boys.  He has accomplished all this while staying on the honor roll, principals list and earning the academic excellence award.
