Computer Science is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications. It is the systematic study of the feasibility, structure, expression and mechanization of the methodical processes (or algorithms) that underlie the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication of and access to information, whether such information is encoded in bits and bytes in a computer memory or transcribed engines and protein structures in a human cell.
The Department offers a 2 year M.C.A & M.Sc. (Computer Science) courses. MCA was established in the year 1991. M.Sc. (Computer Science) was established in the year 1998. There are two well equipped computer labs. The Department has well qualified and experienced teaching staff and lab assistants.
The Department organizes Seminars, Workshops and Guest lectures regularly based on current and trending topics in the field of computer science which offers the students an opportunity to listen to eminent and experienced personnel from the industry and other institutions.
Pre-Placement Training programs are also conducted to equip the students with relevant knowledge to face interviews. The academic performance of the students has been consistently outstanding.
Collaborations
The Department collaborates with Pantech e- Learning Technologies to offer Academic Projects , Internships and Certificate Courses for MCA & MSc(Comp-Sci) and to support students for providing innovative skills in software and Aptitude Development. , and to encourage the students for education activities, and to improve the quality of teaching staff through Short Term / Long Term certificate courses, providing academic interaction by delivering lectures on topics relevant to modern industry with necessary help in organizing workshops/conferences, training our students under software development programs with guidance for enhancement of IT Infrastructural development at our College and provide Software and Hardware Services if required.
Alumni
Alumni are in highly respectable professional positions in various industries. They mentor the juniors on career, industry opportunities, higher education (Indian/Overseas), feedback/suggestions for improvement on training etc. In addition to that a facility of exchanging information through e-mails is also provided.
Activities
The Department conducts Group discussions, class room seminars, quiz, field oriented studies and Campus recruitment Training etc.,. The students are assigned with project work in final semester. They participate in various inter college competitions like paper presentation, Essay writing, Elocution, Singing, Indoor and Outdoor games etc..
