Foresight BI & Analytics: BI Developer Internship
My submission for the Internship , May 2023.
Mbuotidem A. | August, 2023.
Target dataset
After exploring the datasets, I created a detailed list of all columns in each table using Microsoft Word.
Here is the details of each columns (as seen on the left).
Next, I designed a mock-up on Microsoft Whiteboard outlining the layout and visual representation for each of the reports. This included specifying the types of charts to be used along with their corresponding titles.
Task: "After Loading your dataset into Power BI. Build the appropriate data model and create the necessary relationships.
Then, In Power BI Desktop, go to the Modeling Tab, click on Manage Relationship. Then take a screenshot of your Power BI Data Model Relationships and upload"
Task: "Create all your DAX Measures for the required numbers (Test them and make sure they work correctly).
Download and Install DAX Studio. When you do that, you should have it showing on the External Tools tab of your Power BI.
Launch it from Power BI Desktop. Inside DAX Studio, go to the DMV Panel and search for Measure. Use either the MDSHEMA_Measures or TMSCHEMA_Measures to export your Measures to Excel.
You may need a little research to find out how to do that
This is the final stage, bringing everything together. The data has been cleaned and transformed, the model structured, DAX measures calculated, and the visuals designed. View the interactive version to get the full User Experience.
Task:
Export your Power BI Desktop Report to PDF and upload here
In an MS Word Document, paste a Web Link of your Power BI Report. (i.e, publish your report to power bi service, then create an embed link for web to be copied and pasted in the MS Word Document.
