About

I have a Masters’ degree in Psychology (Clinical), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Child & Adolescent), a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). I have also completed Level 1 training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel and for the balance of mind-body-spirit to be disrupted.

My great passion is to assist people to find healthy perceptions of themselves – mind, body and spirit and to strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves is peaceful, whole and safe…..mind, body and spirit, in balance.

I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual; my therapeutic approach draws on principles of clinically and evidence-based interventions including Cognitive-Behaviour therapy, Dialectic-Behaviour therapy, Interpersonal therapy, Acceptance & Commitment therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

I work therapeutically with individuals who are experiencing issues such as

- Mental illness

- Psychosis

- Schizophrenia

- Anxiety

- Depression

- Bipolar Affective Disorder

- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

- Personality Disorders, incl Dissociative Identity Disorder

- Eating Disorders

- Trauma

- Childhood abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, ritual)

- Adults surviving childhood trauma / abuse

- Occupational trauma (eg emergency and military)

- Spiritual / Religious difficulties

- Grief & Loss

- Low Self Esteem

- Ageing

- Separation / Divorce

I became a therapist to help individuals navigate their complex worlds in order that they might live healthier, happier lives. I believe in a strengths-based, holistic approach to health; that all components of one’s life are co-related.

My approach involves genuine caring, acceptance and non-judgement. It’s a privilege to be invited into my client’s inner lives and to travel the journey with them towards balance and harmony in mind, body and spirit.

If you are seeking positive change in your life, I encourage you to take that first step.
