History of
Here is a brief retrospect on the designs of Montebello Bus Lines (MBL) bus stop designs over the decades.

Originally started out as a triangular blue sign displaying "BUS STOP" and "MONTEBELLO BUS LINES" to distinguish from similar signs of other transit services.
A couple of these signs are on display at Montebello Bus Lines' office at Olympic Blvd & Taylor Ave in Montebello.

Following RTD and Metro, in 2007, MBL replaced all their existing bus stop signs with rectangular signs, displaying route numbers and destinations. Each sign featured the MBL logo and color stripe for recognition.

Beginning in 2012, all MBL bus stop signs would be replaced by blue signs, only showing the MBL logo, website, and 511 the transportation phone line.
The delivery of five 2018 New Flyer XN40s and the electrification of three other buses brought a new green stripe variant to the MBL fleet livery, as well as the signs.
Currently, there is a mix of the two variants throughout the Montebello Bus Lines system.

In 2025, MBL stuck "route number decals" to existing bus stop signs, masking the SoCal 511 phone line logo.
These decals are limited to the areas of Montebello and South San Gabriel.

Select stops in Montebello have been fitted with digital real-time arrival countdowns (in minutes) for each route served at the particular stop.
