Tips to help you look and feel your absolute best
Getting your makeup done is a special experience and how you prep your skin can make a huge difference in how your makeup applies, lasts, and looks in photos.
Below are simple, expert-approved tips to help you get ready for your session with MBlessed&Co.
Start with a Fresh Face
Come with a clean, makeup-free face. Gently cleanse your skin before the appointment. Avoid using heavy oils or moisturizers right before the session, let me handle the prep suited for makeup application.
Pro tip:
Celebrity makeup artist, Lisa Eldridge, suggests using a gentle cleanser and following up with a lightweight, non-greasy moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated but not oily.
2. Hydrate Your Skin
Dry or flaky skin can affect how smoothly foundation applies. The night before, exfoliate gently and apply a hydrating serum or moisturizer. Drinking enough water helps too.
Well-hydrated skin is happy skin!
Dermatologist-backed tip:
Dr. Shereene Idriss recommends hydrating the skin 24–48 hours before big events to avoid puffiness and dry patches.
3. Avoid New Product
Don’t try new skincare or hair products right before the session to avoid unexpected reactions, irritation, or breakouts.
4. Be On Time and Prepared
Make sure your booked time is when you want to be
fully ready,
not when you want to start.
I’ll arrive 20–30 minutes early to set up, depending on your location.
5. Wear a Comfortable Top
Choose something with a wide neckline or buttons/zippers, so your makeup and hair won't get ruined when changing clothes after the session.
Lastly: Communication is Key!
Have a specific look in mind? Inspiration photos are always welcome! Let me know about any skin concerns, allergies, or preferences in advance so I can tailor the glam session to your needs.
Remember: The goal is to enhance your natural features, not mask them. At MBlessed&Co. we believe true beauty begins with comfort and care and ends with a glow you’ll love! 💛
Capturing special moments is part of what makes this work meaningful but your comfort and privacy are our top priority.
With your kind consent, we may take a few photos or short clips during or after your session to document our work for content or portfolio use.
If you'd prefer not to be photographed or shared online, we completely understand, just let us know.
You’ll always have the final say, and your boundaries will always be respected. 🤍
