I am a Policy Analyst at the OECD's Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities, working on Regional Development and Multi-level Governance.
Previously, I worked as an external expert for the Asian Development Bank, the European Commission and the OECD, and I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the UK's National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) and the The Productivity Institute (TPI). I also spent a year working in the private sector in Lisbon.
I completed a PhD in Economic Geography at the London School of Economics. My research aimed to understand whether and how economic complexity, a measure of the knowledge embedded in exports and other economic activities, can help us understand regional disparities and economic development. I was supervised by Prof. Simona Iammarino and Prof. Neil Lee and fully funded by FCT, the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
