The ten-minute play movement started in the late 1970's during the Humana Festival of American Plays at the Actor's Theater of Louisville. It started as an experiment in what was called "Polaroid Playwriting", but quickly grew into a movement that spread throughout the country and around the world. Today the ten-minute play movement is highly popular with writer, actors, and audiences worldwide.
During tonight's performance, you will get a bit of a theater buffet. Each play stands alone, and there is no tie between each show except for the talented cast. All of the actors are part of the second-year acting class at WHS. Some have been a huge part of productions here at WHS and others are doing their first public performance on our stage tonight.
The actors had a part in choosing their roles and, as a group, settled on the shows we're performing. Even the name of the play was chosen by the group. If you want to understand what it means - talk to Evan!
Thanks for being here and enjoy our "Polaroid Plays"!
