Md. Ashraf Zaman Faruk, currently working as a PhD (MEXT Scholar) student in the field of Pharmacology at Niigata University, Japan. His research interests on Blood Vascular and Lymphatic system, Embryology, Cell biology, CRISPR/Cas9, Electron and Fluorescence microscopy, Exome sequencing, and Genome editing. Through his academic journey, he has been successfully graduated on Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He did his Master of Science (MS) degree major in Anatomy from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh.
During his MS research, he collaborated with several research groups to study viral zoonotic diseases associated with reproductive disorders in large ruminants. He also worked as a Disease Investigator on the project titled “Investigation on Livestock Diseases and Development of Appropriate Control Measures in Hilly Areas,” funded by the Krishi Gobeshona Foundation (KGF) under the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council. In addition, he served as a Livestock Officer for the “Learning and Innovation Fund to Test New Ideas (LIFT)” project, implemented by Shotofull Bangladesh in Mohonpur, Rajshahi. He was later appointed as a Program Coordinator for the project “Strengthening the Supply Chain of Livestock for Meat Processing,” funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). This project was a collaboration between SDC-Shomoshti, CARE Bangladesh, and Bengal Meat Processing Industries Limited. Before pursuing his most recent academic credential, he worked as a Livestock Extension Officer under the Livestock and Dairy Development Project (LDDP), run by the Department of Livestock Services, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Bangladesh.
He is a registered Veterinarian by Bangladesh Veterinary Council (BVC) and member of Bangladesh Veterinary Association (BVA), Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh (KIB), One Health One World Bangladesh, World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA), World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA), Bangladesh Livestock Society and International Society for Applied Ethology.
He has over 10 years of professional experience in veterinary disease investigation and research. Mr. Faruk has presented his research findings at different conferences and has already published his work in several top-tier journals, including Scientific Reports, Pakistan Veterinary Journal, and Journal of Advanced Veterinary Research. Additionally, some of his research findings are currently under review in other esteemed peer-reviewed journals. As a passionate veterinary researcher, Mr. Faruk is enthusiastic about showcasing his work globally and contribute to advanced scientific communities.
