I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Cognitive Evolution Group at the University of Michigan, where I study the relationship between social behavior and cognitive abilities in semi-free-ranging chimpanzees and macaques. My work focuses on how skills like metacognition, inhibitory control, and cognitive flexibility influence individuals' social strategies and their position within the group.
I earned my Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, where I studied cooperation in dogs at the Domestication Lab and the Clever Dog Lab, and in capuchin monkeys as a visiting researcher at the Language Research Center at Georgia State University.
