My name is Mayssaa Joseph. I immigrated from Damascus, Syria to Canada in 2016. I graduated from the assistant engineering School at the University of Damascus in 1998. I had worked as an assistant engineer for ten years in Damascus, Syria,

After I arrived in Hamilton - Canada, I thought in taking my interest in working with children to a professional level.

After some research, I was able to find a program at Mohawk college that deal with children and support them emotionally.

In 2018, I made the decision to take the journey. I started a full-time study in Early Childhood Education program at Mohawk College and graduated as an RECE in 2020.

After working with children in the field placement, I decided to continue my study to improve my knowledge to be able to support children with special needs. I am now a full time student at Sheridan College in the Educational Support program.
