Prior to volunteering with kids you are required to complete the following items:

*All volunteers who will work with children need to have a background investigation, more information is available at - https://www.aacps.org/Page/1869

Additionally, the following groups of individuals must complete a fingerprint-supported background check (fingerprint-supported background checks are good for the entire length of time your child attends an AACPS):

All overnight volunteers or chaperones
All drown proofing volunteers or chaperones
All Polar Bear Plunge volunteers and chaperones
Any volunteer or chaperone with one-on-one unsupervised/unrestricted access to children
Student teachers
All Student Services Interns/Practicum students
Any intern with one-on-one unsupervised/unrestricted access to children
