Maya Michaud is a local New England artist, based in Maine. She has always had a fascination with painting people and observing one's unique facial features and expressions. Her fascination grew into a life passion and currently specializes in oils, acrylics and mixed media portraits to further express herself and explore the complexity of portraiture. Maya’s art allows her to be hands-on, and create intriguing visual expressions that connect to the audience in a variety of unique ways. The boldness of colors and the mixed media within the paintings provide room for curiosity and discovery. She is interested in human emotions, individual uniqueness, and energy which is explored in her various series. She is also inspired by ambiguity in art, to explore the secrets and stories that are embedded within her portrait paintings. Maya continued on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts in May, 2022. Her work has been shown at various venues including the Maine Maritime Museum, the Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine, the Nettie Ricker Gallery, the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery.
