Network Security Research Group (NSRG) is a group of passionate researchers working in network-based security. We investigate various network security issues such as the detection of zero-day attacks, detection of botnets, profiling Voice over IP (VoIP) users to detect spam, detection of application layer tunnels, network traffic classification, security issues in IoT communications, malware analysis, and many more. Network Security Research Lab:
Network Security Research Lab is a dedicated workplace for the researchers of NSRG. It is a fully air-conditioned lab with a capacity of 20 researchers. The lab has 20 PC with i5/i7 processors with 8GB RAM, a projector, printer, scanner, whiteboards, almirah, podium with mic, speakers, 4 programmable cisco switches, 4 programmable cisco routers, 4 wifi routers, number of raspberry pi boards, sensors, dedicated high-performance computing machine, network gateway firewall with built-in intrusion detection system, alfa cards, I-Securit penetration testing device, number of storage devices, etc. We also have access to one of the powerful supercomputers of India "Param Shivay" (on request and as per institute rules and guidelines) at IIT (BHU). Moreover, we are ready to purchase more hardware on demand for the current research. Following are some photos from our lab:
