Pricing: This is by far the #1 topic addressed in the English Bulldog industry. "How much do they cost?", "Why are their vet bills higher?", "Why are they so expensive to maintain?", "Why do your dogs cost more than (Insert Breeder Name Here) down the street?" Well, I am going to answer all of those questions for you here!
#1 - "How much do they cost?"
Short Answer....A Lot... Here at Mayan Bulldogz, you can expect to pay $2.5k-4k per puppy. Long Answer - Do not expect anything lower from us. We are going to provide you with a healthy and quality puppy that has been bred and raised based on an education and love for what we are doing here. It costs thousands to produce a litter of these pups along with months of hands-on, round-the-clock care that we do to ensure the health and quality of your new family member for your sake and ours before they get to your home.
#2 - "Why are their vet bills higher?" or "Why are they so expensive to maintain?"
Short Answer- Are they though? They have the same vaccine, check up schedule as all dogs/cats and have minimal to average grooming to maintain outside of brushing, bathing, nails and wrinkles to maintain.Long Answer - No one buys an English Bulldog because they are common or easy to take care of. The truth is this is an animal. They are loving, caring and sensitive to their environment and surroundings. If you are not interested in an English Bulldog because you are looking to add to your life and family then you should not purchase one. The are a responsibility, not an object to get rid of because you couldn't pay a vet bill. As with any investment or loving pet, do your homework to ensure you can care for and maintain an animal such as an English before purchasing, ESPECIALLY IF THE PRICE IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! Unfortunately in this market if the price for an Standard English Bulldog (typical colors/markings) is less than $2000, you are likely playing with fire! Always ask for health test info on parents before purchasing and health background if available. You need to know what MIGHT be waiting for you at 6months, 2 years or even 7. As with any animal, vet care, regular checks and vaccines along with exercise and diet are instrumental to your pups health and quality of life. You must educate yourself as to common health issues that are unrelated to the breed that are subject to scrutiny by vets and work with a vet that you trust has you and your pups best interest at heart!
#3 - "Why do your dogs cost more than (Insert Breeder Name Here) down the street?"
Short Answer - Because they are Worth it!
Long Answer - If you have read ANYTHING on this site regarding how and why we breed our dogs you should know we care for them like our children! Our children care for them like siblings! This is not our day job. This is a labor of love. Our Chiquis came to us while recovering from a very hard place in life and we know first hand what a difference she made. She provided a source of love we didn't know was possible. Her sweetness is passed to every person that meets her. Her baby SugarBear and our new baby is just like her. We keep up and even PUPSIT for our local clients regularly and know how much they are loved and how much they bring that same quality to their new owner's lives as well. Not only is this a fact but our Dams and Studs are Health CLEARED. We go the extra mile to ensure your pups have no genetic defects that will affect their quality of life or health later down the road. Common things such as Allergies or Cherry Eye may arise but nothing genetic in nature is going to sabotage your loving pups life or the time you spend with them later on.
