Maya Johnson

I am so glad you're here! Let me introduce myself.

Born and raised in Russia, I have lived in the United States for the past 20 years. My husband and I have been married for almost 25 years, and we have spent our entire married life in ministry, serving in both cross-cultural missions and pastoral ministry.

We have four children and a beautiful granddaughter. I love getting lost in a good book, spending time outdoors, and enjoying coffee brewed by my husband. 

My husband serves as the senior pastor of a church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and I serve in various ways with discipleship and counseling ministries. My passion is to walk alongside women in their struggles, helping them view their circumstances through the lens of Scripture and find hope in the resources God has graciously provided through the person and work of Christ.

My own journey as a follower of Christ has been deeply shaped by a growing love for God's Word. I firmly believe that "abundant peace belongs to those who love your instruction; nothing makes them stumble" (Psalm 119:165, CSB). God has graciously provided everything we need for life and godliness, and His Word is sufficient to help us make sense of  who we are, our place in this world, and how to live with joy and endurance in the midst of a broken world.

It would be a privilege to come alongside you as we seek together the hope, wisdom, and lasting change found in Christ.

I meet virtually with women seeking support for anxiety, depression, grief, OCD, trauma, miscarriage, divorce, abuse, and other life challenges. My experience in both cross-cultural missions and local church ministry gives me a unique perspective and enables me to walk alongside those serving in ministry, both local and abroad. Having experienced the joys and pressures of ministry firsthand, I understand the unique challenges ministry can bring.

I have received biblical counseling training and certification through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and have completed Level 2 training through the Christian Trauma Healing Network. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
