Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the Simon Institute for Longterm Governance (SI) works to mitigate global catastrophic risks, building on Herbert Simon's vision of future-oriented policymaking. With a focus on fostering international cooperation, we center our efforts on the multilateral system.
Building a neighborhood/microsociety with:
co-living: houses within 5min walking distance or short commute
co-working: sharing a working space; creating startups & orgs together
co-learning: peer learning in a community university
Also, bonus: co-partying and co-helping-raise-each-other's-kids.
Intellectual Harakiri is a blog I launched with two friends of mine - Jan Pieter Snoeij and Isaak Mengesha. It's an outlet where we share our views on the world, interpersonal dynamics, meaning, and more. We accept guest blogs so please reach out if you'd like to contribute!
Co-founded in 2018, the Lab aims to conduct complexity science research on policy issues with the goal to generate useful evidence for decision-makers. Our approach is to collaborate with government and international organization agencies to conduct quantitative research on social phenomena, in particular the ones where it is valuable to unpacking social complexity. That is, we aim to provide insights on the inner-workings of complex systems, such as social interactions and individuals behaviours and how they relate to system-level outcomes, to support the craft of more effective policies.
In 2015, I co-founded EA Geneva which provides support, resources, training, and contacts for aspiring effective altruists to figure out how they can most effectively contribute to making the world a better place. I highly recommend students and young professionals to check out EA Geneva's Impact Seminar and Fellowship to make progress on their goals and increase their likelihood to make a difference in the world.
