MaxSprint is a sprint training app for iPhone and Apple Watch designed to help athletes plan, execute and analyse sprint training.
MaxSprint includes flexible workout building, individualised target times, audio pacing, live workout guidance, sprint performance analysis, readiness monitoring, timing-gate support, optional cloud synchronisation and connected coaching features.
MaxSprint can be used without creating an account for normal individual sprint training.
If you choose to create a MaxSprint Cloud account, selected account, athlete profile, planning and training information may be securely synchronised to support cloud features, connected coaching and planned-workout delivery.
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, MaxSprint may also use information from Apple Health together with your locally stored training history to provide readiness and recovery information.

When reporting an issue, please include:
Your iPhone model
Your Apple Watch model, if applicable
Your iOS and watchOS versions
The MaxSprint app version
A brief description of what happened
The workout or feature you were using when the issue occurred
Please do not send sensitive health information unless it is necessary to explain the issue.
If MaxSprint is not working as expected:
Close MaxSprint completely and reopen it.
An internet connection is required for MaxSprint Cloud features such as account sign-in, cloud synchronisation, coach connectivity and planned-workout delivery.
Normal local sprint training does not require a MaxSprint Cloud account.
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled when using Apple Watch or compatible timing hardware.
Make sure MaxSprint is installed on both your iPhone and Apple Watch.
If you are using features that communicate directly between the devices, confirm that the Watch is connected to the iPhone.
Some planned workouts may be completed independently on Apple Watch after they have been delivered to the Watch.
Ensure MaxSprint has the permissions required for the features you are using.
These may include:
Apple Health permissions
Bluetooth permission
Notification permission
Motion or fitness-related permissions where applicable
Permissions can be reviewed through your iPhone Settings and Apple Health settings.
If an issue continues, restart your iPhone and Apple Watch before trying again.
MaxSprint Cloud is optional for normal individual sprint training.
Creating a cloud account enables connected features such as:
Cloud synchronisation
Coach connectivity
Planned-workout delivery
Synchronisation of eligible athlete profile and training information
Connected Apple Watch workout workflows
Account creation and sign-in are available from:
Settings → Cloud
If cloud information is not synchronising:
Confirm your device has an internet connection
Confirm you are signed in to the correct MaxSprint Cloud account
Open MaxSprint and allow the app to complete synchronisation
Use any available manual sync control in Settings if required
Restart the app if synchronisation appears to be stalled
If the issue continues, contact MaxSprint Support.
MaxSprint includes support for connected coaching workflows.
A connected athlete may be able to:
Receive planned workouts
Share completed training
Synchronise relevant workout information
Participate in connected Coach workflows
The separate MaxSprint Coach app is currently being completed and may not yet be publicly available in all releases.
The athlete app remains fully usable for normal individual sprint training without the MaxSprint Coach app.
If you create a MaxSprint Cloud account, you can initiate account deletion from within the app.
Go to:
Settings → Cloud → Delete Cloud Account
Deleting your MaxSprint Cloud account permanently deletes the associated cloud account and relevant synced cloud data, including applicable:
Account information
Synced athlete profile information
Synced workout information
Coach and athlete links
Cloud workout assignments
Connected cloud records
Local-only workout information may remain on your device unless you delete it separately.
Deleting a MaxSprint Cloud account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription.
Subscriptions are managed separately through your Apple Account subscription settings.
Ensure compatible timing hardware is:
Powered on
Within Bluetooth range
Configured correctly
Operating before the workout begins
If timing information is still not appearing, close and reopen MaxSprint and reconnect the timing hardware.
If the problem continues, contact MaxSprint Support with details of the issue.
MaxSprint may use Apple Health information to support workout analysis and training readiness functionality.
Depending on the permissions you grant and the information available on your device, this may include:
Sleep duration
Heart rate
Resting heart rate, including suitable measurements taken before waking where available
Heartbeat-series or beat-to-beat interval information
Workout information
Distance
Energy expenditure
MaxSprint may use suitable heartbeat-series information to calculate heart rate variability measures such as RMSSD and LnRMSSD locally on your device.
MaxSprint may combine Apple Health information with locally stored MaxSprint information such as:
Recent training history
Training volume
Rep intensity
Workout type
Sprint performance
Performance relative to previous sessions or targets
Previous readiness records
Optional readiness questionnaire responses
Optional countermovement jump results
This information is used to provide training and recovery context within MaxSprint.
Readiness calculations and related physiological analysis are performed on-device.
MaxSprint does not currently upload HealthKit-derived physiological information such as HRV, sleep, resting heart rate, workout heart-rate information or calculated readiness scores to MaxSprint Cloud.
You remain in control of the Apple Health information MaxSprint can access.
You can review or withdraw Health permissions at any time through the Apple Health app or your device's Health and privacy settings.
On current versions of iOS, this can generally be reviewed through:
Health app → Profile → Apps and Services → MaxSprint
or through the relevant Health and privacy settings in Settings.
The exact menu wording may vary depending on your version of iOS.
You can enable or disable individual Health categories.
Withdrawing a permission prevents MaxSprint from accessing that Health category in the future.
Changing Health permissions does not necessarily delete information previously stored separately within MaxSprint or within Apple Health.
If readiness information is unavailable or incomplete:
Confirm that MaxSprint has permission to read the Health information required for the readiness features you want to use.
MaxSprint can only analyse information that exists in Apple Health and that you have permitted the app to access.
Some readiness measures may not be available if your Apple Watch has not recorded suitable sleep, resting heart rate or heartbeat-series information.
Some readiness analysis becomes more useful once MaxSprint has sufficient recent training and physiological history to compare current measurements with your normal values.
Readiness questionnaire responses and countermovement jump results are optional.
MaxSprint can continue to provide other functionality without these measures, although the available readiness analysis may differ depending on the information provided.
MaxSprint provides training and performance information, not medical advice.
Readiness scores, recovery information, heart rate variability analysis, training suggestions and performance estimates are intended to provide context for sprint training.
They are not intended to diagnose illness, injury or any medical condition.
MaxSprint is not a substitute for assessment or advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
If you have symptoms, health concerns or uncertainty about whether it is appropriate to train, seek appropriate medical advice rather than relying solely on MaxSprint readiness information.
MaxSprint can operate with Apple Watch to provide guided workouts and other training functionality.
Workout and training information may be communicated between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple-provided system frameworks.
Planned workouts may also be delivered to Apple Watch and, where supported, completed independently without the iPhone being present throughout the workout.
If Apple Watch functionality is not working correctly:
Confirm MaxSprint is installed on both devices
Open MaxSprint on both devices
Check Bluetooth
Confirm the Watch and iPhone are connected when the feature requires a live connection
Restart both devices if necessary
For timing-gate workflows that support direct Apple Watch operation, ensure Bluetooth and the relevant timing settings are enabled on the Watch before beginning the workout.
MaxSprint can capture compatible timing data from supported timing hardware and incorporate those results into live workouts and training analysis.
Timing information may include:
Rep times
Split times
Timing events
Results associated with individual workout repetitions
Timing results may form part of your MaxSprint workout history.
If you use MaxSprint Cloud, eligible workout information including timing results may be synchronised as part of the workout record.
MaxSprint is an independent application and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Freelap.
MaxSprint is designed primarily as an on-device training application, with optional cloud functionality.
Information that may be stored locally on your device includes:
Athlete profile information
Workout history
Sprint performances
Timing results
Readiness history
Questionnaire responses
Countermovement jump results
App settings
Derived readiness and HRV information
Heart-rate and workout information used by local features
If you create a MaxSprint Cloud account, selected information may also be transmitted to and stored through MaxSprint Cloud to provide connected features.
This may include:
Account information
Athlete profile information
Planned workouts
Workout history
Sprint and timing results
Session information
Coach and athlete connection information
Cloud synchronisation records
HealthKit-derived physiological information such as HRV, sleep, resting heart rate, workout heart-rate information and calculated readiness scores is not currently included in the production MaxSprint Cloud synchronisation payload.
Information held separately within Apple Health continues to be managed by Apple's Health system.
Where MaxSprint provides controls for deleting individual workouts or records, you can use those controls to remove the relevant information.
Deleting MaxSprint from your device removes locally stored application data associated with the app, subject to Apple's device and backup behaviour.
Deleting the app does not necessarily delete information stored in MaxSprint Cloud.
To delete a MaxSprint Cloud account and its associated cloud data, use:
Settings → Cloud → Delete Cloud Account
Information stored separately in Apple Health is not necessarily deleted when MaxSprint is removed.
Apple Health information can be reviewed and deleted separately through Apple's Health app.
Likewise, deleting information from Apple Health does not necessarily remove separate training records already stored within MaxSprint.
If you use a MaxSprint backup or export feature, the exported file is controlled by you once it leaves the app.
You decide:
Where the backup is stored
Whether it is saved to iCloud or another cloud service
Whether it is transferred to another device
Whether it is shared
When it is deleted
MaxSprint does not automatically receive a separate copy of a user-created exported backup.
If you store a MaxSprint backup with another service, that service's own privacy practices apply.
MaxSprint does not:
Sell your personal information
Sell Health information
Use Health or readiness information for advertising
Share Health information with advertisers
Share your information with data brokers
Track you across apps or websites for advertising purposes
Use third-party behavioural advertising services
MaxSprint uses information only as required to provide its training, synchronisation, coaching, analysis, security and support functionality.
MaxSprint takes user privacy seriously.
